Sølvspileren - new amazing sailing record

The trophy “Sølvspileren” (the silver spinnaker) is the most prestigious sailing trophy in Denmark.

On 7 October Eric and Jens Quorning smashed the record round Zealand by 2 ½ hours – in 14 hours 50 minutes – on Carbon3, a 40’ one-off full carbon trimaran designed by Nigel Irens and built by TUCO Marine in Denmark.

Conditions were excellent with winds from 20-30 knots.

The old record holder was former 2 x Dragonfly owner, Mr Erik Filsø on his VX40 catamaran in 17 hours 20 minutes.
