Design DNA & Construction
The DRAGONFLY 33 is designed and developed on the DNA of its predecessor the DRAGONFLY 32.
All three hulls are made in hand-laid vinylester with Divinycell closed foam core and in white Gelcoat finish. Cabin deck is made with hand-laid fiberglass combined with a Divinycell foam core sandwich construction and in white gelcoat finish with white non-skid on deck areas.
The DRAGONFLY 33 offers a homogeneous construction by using more infusion and complex tooling for some of the composite parts including the forward main bulkheads. All this to optimize production, weight, strength, lifetime and maintenance.
Designed around the sailor
At the heart of the DRAGONFLY 33 is a spacious dual-zone cockpit with twin wheels, providing outstanding visibility, easy movement throughout the cockpit and direct access to the water for swimming and watersports.
Carefully integrated sail controls led back to the helm, creating an intuitive and comfortable sailing environment, which enables excellent control from either side.
The DRAGONFLY 33 offers functionality, performance and elegance in perfect harmony. Easy to handle, exceptionally stable and fast in all conditions, it is equally suited for single-handed adventures, family cruising, offshore passages and weekend racing.
Fold. Berth. Explore.
The unique Dragonfly Swing Wing system allows the DRAGONFLY 33 to fold from 8.10 m to just 3.70 m in minutes, without the use of tools.
Built around four vacuum-infused composite folding wings and our proven stainless-steel hinge system on the main hull, refined through decades of development, it combines exceptional strength and reliability with unmatched practicality for berthing, transport and storage.
Smart Features for Effortless Adventures
Equipped with a fixed bowsprit, the DRAGONFLY 33 ensures easy use of downwind sails, like the optional Asymmetric Spinnaker or Code-0, which makes sailing easier, more fun, and faster. It also simplifies anchoring, making each stop along your journey elegant and effortless.
The kick-up rudder and centerboard system allows you to let the boat fall dry or beach it with ease, but also providing peace of mind by preventing
impact damage while sailing.
The strategic placement of the sail drive and
dual-blade propeller further protects your boat, ensuring it rests securely on
the lowest part of the center hull when drying out.
A stainless steel anchor bracket can be nicely integrated in the fixed bowsprit together with an anchor. From the anchor locker it is easy to drop or weigh the anchor. With only 0.55 m draft, every anchor spot will welcome you as well.
Space. Comfort. Freedom.
The DRAGONFLY 33 offers an extremely stabile platform at anchor and the two trampolines provides plenty of extra m² and are integrated at deck level, so walking around the boat when folded out feels natural.
When it’s time to cool off, simply jump in from the open stern. A convenient bathing ladder is located on the starboard float, allowing for easy reboarding after your swim.
Each float has plenty of storage room for extra sails, an inflatable dinghy, outboard engine etc.. The storage is easy accessible from the standard forward hatch or the optional aft hatch.
In the cockpit you will also find plenty of storage behind the forward long backrest or in the cockpit lockers at both starboard and port side.
