Nine Dragonflys participated in this year’s “Silverrudder Challenge” this weekend, the Single-hand Race round the Danish island Funen with more than 400 boats listed to start, including 23 multihulls. This year was an even greater challenge, as there was almost no wind, which took the fleet into a challenge of time.
First ship home was the Danish-built 32 feet full carbon boat “Black Marlin” with Jan Andersen. Second boat across the line overall was Jens Quorning onboard his Dragonfly 28 Performance only one hour behind after 31 hours of sailing. 3rd fastest boat overall in the race was Jakob Drud Madsen in his Dragonfly 28 Performance in 33 hours – very well done. In the Multihull Class Large (+28), the next five boats after Black Marlin were all Dragonflys.
